Attending Year 12 school Formal

As u know yr12 is over, i go to a public school, at my school a formal has been arranged as a farwel celebration, there will b music and dancing, can i go? (its an important isue that all yr12 students face, there is a great deal of peer presure aslong as ones own desires to attend this farewell since it is d last time they will b with there mates)

Music and mixing with the opposite gender is haram no matter what the circumstance is. I know it’s a bit hard to miss out on your Farwell celebration but know that you are doing it for someone great and that’s Allah and the prophet (pbuh) said that what ever you leave for Allah's sake Allah will give you something better.
