Assalamou Alaicom!

You how there's these daily athkar, that are said in the morning and at night (namely after maghrib). I was wondering if we put them in practice insha Allah and discuss the way they may have influenced our day and night in anyway.

Let's use this week to get use to putting them into practice so that later on in our life, they will be in constant practice on a daily basis.

You can listen to them here:
http://jebril.com/en/doaa_section/daily_athkar.htm

If someone can get them alliterated with meanings then posting it would be great.

These are wonderful to learn, Where my children attend Arabic school they are given one a week to learn, We write them out and put them up around the house as a constant reminder for us and also as an easier way to remember them.

This has also been a practise that has sort of caught on by alot of my friends and family as well.

Why not give it a try ??

It works.... believe me ! :D

Jazakallah sis for this wonderful reminder and this wonderful idea to help brothers and sisters learn !

Ur sis in Islam

Jazaki lahu khair for supporting this idea sis..

i really just wanted it to be out there and remind everyone that it's a positive thing to do on a daily basis.

Nothing is more beutiful than the feeling that one gets when he or she starts their day on the remembernce of Allah swt... nd ends it likewise.

Assalaamualaykom

May Allah reward u Sister, so many Duaa's both b4 going to sleep and upon waking up, it would be so good if we all put them into practice. I think one of the easiest ones to do would be to recite Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and Al-Nass, the last 3 chapters of the Quran just before going to bed. Or even the tasbih that is normaly done after prayer (i.e. Subhan'Allah, Al'hamdulillah, Allahu Akbar)

I like that method Sister Unpredictable, sounds very effective actually! I also think practicing these things as a family is by far one of the best things any one can do.

Nyway, Jazaakum Allah khair Under cover for sharing.

Wa'iyakom,

Just adding to the list: Ayat al-Qursi

Some great tips there. Even in one's own room would be great. As for the family issue, definitly!

You know, family quality time really puts all these wonderful teachings of Islam into practice. If only each parent brings their kids together every end of the day for a family talk, reading a chapter of the quran, praying jama'a, and just looking forward for a new tomorrow with the Lght of the Quran and Sunnah - the youth would be better raised and not lost in the midst of corruption.

Allahu Alam..

I thought I would add some more....

PROTECTION FROM SHAYTAN:

Abu Dawood reported in his Sunan that the Messenger of Allaah (SAW) said: "If a man goes out of his house and says,

Bismillaah, tawakkaltu`ala Allaah, laa hawla wa laa quwwata illaa billaah

(In the name of Allaah, I put my trust in Allaah, there is no help and no strength except in Allaah),'

it will be said to him, This will take care of you, you are guided, you have what you need and you are protected.' The Shaytaan will stay away from him, and another shaytaan will say to him, What can you do with a man who is guided, provided for and protected?'" (Reported by Abu Dawood and al-Tirmidhi. Saheeh al-Jaami', no. 499)

combine this dua below with the top one and say them in the morning and evening.

"Allahumma inni a'uthu bika an adilla aw udal...aw azilla aw uzal...aw athlim aw uthlam...aw ajhal aw yujhal 'alayy.."

Allahumma I seek refuge in You from leading or being led astray...or from putting or being put at anyone's mercy...or from oppressing or being oppressed... .or from ignorance... .

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PROTECTION AGAINST EVIL EYE

If harm is feared from a person’s “eye”, or its harm has reached a person, its evil should be repelled by saying:

“Allaahumma baarik ‘alayhi”
(O Allaah, bless for him what he has),

as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to ‘Aamir ibn Rabee’ah when he harmed Sahl ibn Hunayf with al-‘ayn (put the evil eye on him “You should have asked for blessing for him,” i.e., said Allaahumma baarik ‘alayhi."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DUA FOR THE MARKET

umar ibn khattab narrated that the prophet[sallalahu alayhi wa salllam] said whoever says upon entering the market place:

"laa ilaaha illa Allah wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul
mulk, wa lahul hamdu, yuhyee wa yumeet, wa huwa hayyun
laa yamoot biyadihil khayr wa huwa ala kulli shayin qadeer"

Allah will remove 1 thousand bad deeds and add 1 thousand good deeds.

also, the markets are the worst place in the sight of Allah, and as there is a du'aa i know about to say after leaving a sitting, just to eliminate any sins you may have committed while talking to a group of friends, and to replace them with good deeds, SAY:

"ahabbu-l-bilaadi il Allahi masaajiduha"

(the best places in the sight of Allah are the masaajid)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DUA IN SORROW & GRIEF

Ibn 'Abbas reported, "The Prophet, peace be upon him, at times of sorrow and grief used to supplicate,

"La iliha illa Allah Al-'Azim, Al-'Alim, la ilaha illa Allah,
Rabbul 'arshil 'Azim, la ilaha illa Allahu, Rabbus-Samawati wa rabbul ardi wa rabbul 'arshi karim

(There is no god but Allah, the Mighty, the Forbearing, there is no god but Allah, the Lord of the mighty throne, there is no god but Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and the Lord of the throne of honor)'."

This is reported by Bukhari and Muslim.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dua for all difficulties

Allahuma la-sahla illa-ma-jaaltahu, wa-anta tajj- alil-hazna iza she-ta sahla

(O Allah there is nothing easy except that which you make easy and you make hardships if You wish easy)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dua after calamity

When disaster strikes, one should do what is prescribed in Islam, which is to say

“Innaa Lillaahi wa innaa ilayhi raaji’oon (Truly, to Allaah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return)” [al-Baqarah 2:156 – interpretation of the meaning], and

“Allaahumma i’jurni fi museebatini wakhluf li khayraan minhaa (O Allaah, reward me for my calamity and compensate me with something better).”
