i was wondering if we can have like a smy magazine where it addresses topics discussed by the youth and includes some poems and readings.

jazakom lahu khair for the comments, well i mean for things to work there obviously needs to be more responses.

I haven’t had anything particular in mind, just the idea, thought we'll build it on the way.

Online seems great. It will be like a wrap up of the forums on the main site. If it was online and not distributed, then i think it'll then be out more often.

one of my friends has a magazine called " the message magazine", if you folks are up for it, you can start but making a 2 A4 sheet double sided and we can add it to his magazine

we can have it focussing on something specific with each release, so that the monthly update doesn’t seem repetitive.

Maybe we could have monthly writing competitions and the winning entry gets published in the magazine.

Maybe we should begin a pool of ideas ?

- competition as mentioned about
- Hadith and verse of the month
- Maybe a cooking section

So we've got the space, the graphics, the ideas and those who are willing to contribute.

Now all we've got to do is decide on what will be in our monthly publications.

I think the first should more so be introductory since it's the first time we launch in. And in it we may include the ideas that will range in future publications yet to come.

I think from the monthly updates brother AbdulQadr has much experience in this field im hoping that he'll join us insha Allah.

The publication can have 3 mains:

1) The core topic: this could revolve around a reading comprising "What the youth say..!" about a particular current affair / concern or topic of interest.

We've had many popular raised recently: the issue of marriage.. violence in schools, khalifah, inner change... etc.

2) Constant extras: such as hadith, verse, poll and potm of the month

4) An interesting update, event - such as a competition ad, competition results.. projects.. u know, updates on practical things we carry out

U should totally have it digital so folks like me in other regions of the world or folks also like me whom travel too much to call an address home for a mag subscription ! you should use a soft ware like issuu (http://issuu.com),flip book and such as you could give it a3 page web page ,one for the mag,1 for the about editors page,and one for the members of the publication to log in you should make it free and get sponsorship by having relevant to the audience ads. - count me in! it'll be cool :hi 5:

U could also offer the person whos work is featured a buck or two(maybe 5!!) and the ''regular'' editors (could be interns) of each section a piece of ad money (maybe 5%) dont start out with two pages - try one per category -whether two posts per category or one of each as a full page to keep content fresh and do it monthly or qaurterly so the editors may come up with fresh content and wont feel overburdened inshallah;

-ask an editor

-local happenings

-youth news( some Muslim youth that stood out of the crowd)
-cooking section (I can definitely contribute part in here i'm the best cook around {mashallah) :hi 5:

-home/hand crafts

-poetry/writing showcase

-editor lists and credit

-polls

-updates

-definitely agree with monthy writing comps
- Muslim teen biz section articles and q's answered (i can definitely contribute I am currently pursuing a diploma in business and am currently building my own):hi 5:

- community random Islamic/nature pics
