i just wanted to know is it haram to hav a crush i mean like or (be intersted) about a person of opposite gender but not talkin to that person just admiring him or her i know it is hard to control but can u reply and giv advise

hmm...

as i think.. and Insha Allah i'm right... such emotions are hard to control, although they come in human nature. And this is one of those reasons in which we Muslims are to lower our gaze as we pass by or meet the opposite gender.

It's always good to stay away from people you are attracted by to avoid fitnah or further "haram" action (as they are done to opposite genders) in which shaytan usually lead the person to.

a great example is the story of Barsisah that is told in one of the series lectures "preparing for death" (by: Sheikh Anwar Al-Awlaki)

now this part of the series isn't specificaly aiming at having crushes. However, it shows how the evil shaytan leads the person step by step to the wrong path and eventually kufur.

i'm pretty sure other brothers and sisters (including coucellor) could give a hand and post in what they have from advices

by the way.. there is the same thread in "Halal and Haram" section so the Shaikh could also clarify this matter for us.
