I just recently converted from Christisn to Islam. I have found that Islam is a very peaceful religion. I have many questions so thats why i decided to come to this site.

i pray that our belief in the creator, and in Muhammad (peace be upon him) as the last messenger increases and that it allows us all to traverse through life with tranquillity of heart and peace of mind, despite the barrage of hurdles that we will undoubtedly face.

The Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him) informed a certain individual, his companion, Mu'adh bin Jabal, when he was going to the land of Yemen,

"You are going to a people from the People of the Book. Let the first thing that you call them to, be the worship of Allah. If they acknowledge Allah, then inform them that Allah has obligated upon them five prayers during their days and nights" [al-Bukhaaree, Muslim].

I know a christian brother who also converted to Islam (in 2004) and he, too, contends that the most important knowledge a revert can gain, is knowledge of the creed and the principles/tenets of Islam. Who is our creator? What are His attributes, what is Islam and what does it mean? What are the beliefs of Islam that we are expected to accept? etc.
