Insha Allah you are all in the best of health and iman

I was having a conversation with my geography/history teacher (non-muslim) regarding Islamic rulings. And then i started explaining how there is a scholar who does Fatwah (which is determening what is lawful and what is un-lawful) and another who invites people to Islam.. and how scholars have diffirent dgrees of study.

Now i wasn't able to put forward al the types for my teacher because i do not know of them. I tried researching but i didn't succeed.

Can anyone help me out by providing me with scholars and their duties.

Example:

(name of the type of scholar) (translation of the arabic term): (What he does)

Muftee (what ever it means in english): Determines (according to Quran and hadith) after having a certain degree of knowledge what is lawful and what is unlawful .

etc.

Jazakom Allahu Khair,

A scholar in islam is someone with knowledge and some scholars specialise in different fields some specialise in the quran and others in the hadith and others in the Islamic laws and others in dawah,
And its never being that there is different levels or ranks like the other
religions and a muftee is someone who gives fatwa and that could be any
scholar that studied, and these days they have the muftee of a country which he is the assigned muslim scholar assigned by the government.

And Allah knows better
