Salam.
So right now it is hard to find employment. But as a Muslim woman it is even harder. There are so many things you must make sure of, liek dresscode, and is the place halal for a muslim to work at. What are the hours? As a wife I look for work within the hours of the day, so I am at home when my husband comes home so I can cook dinner etc.

But this is me wanting to find out what others are thinking and feeling bout the job market. And if anyone knows of anywhere that would be permssible for a muslim women to work and who is looking. I am finding it so hard. Are brothers having the same problems out there too? That is my question to ya'll.

Ma-assalam.

:sympathy: My job is annoying, i work on a rotating roster. Its a lil hard but i have to deal with it because of the low job market. If i have to work 14:00-2200 (2pm-10pm) I will make dinner for the evening for my husband and son.

The people at my work can be hard to deal with. Non muslims you see. I can't stand how they act and the way they speak. I try to zone out and ignore it. Thats what you have to do.

Salamo 3aleikom,

Well, i know that some sisters who do not wish to work because of the freemixing is having their own webshops. Their selling muslim womens clothing and stuff like that from the their homes . That might be an option for you if you have an intrest in marketing/economics and webdesign. It can be comfortable when having kids and a home to take care of.

And yeah, its hard to find a job who are "haram-free" (lol i just had to use that term) nowadays. But if one insists on find one, it will show up soon inshallah.

Wassalam.

Ah yes. I can make abaya's but I am not that great at the sewing part. It is dodgy for the most part. I did try out to become a seamstress for some sisters who are running a company but that didn't work out. I tried out for another place that sells muslimah attire, but it doesn't look like that is gonna work out either.

So it is back to the drawing board. Insha Allah. All rizq is from Allah. Just gotta keep on the straight path. Btw sister, LazimA, you work as a roster rotator? All around non-muslims, is the meat you sell and products you sell halal?

okay okay on topic. Yeh still, it is hard. NOt getting a job at the muslim womans boutique made it hard. That is an opportunity to work with muslims. Kheir the rizq was not meant to be there. But no one else calls. Like what are they looking for. I am not over qualified. I have no experience. Then when thinking on this the other day I was thinking, is it my degree? Because degrees can hold a lot of weighting. So I was thinking, maybe cause its there that people are thinking I'm over qualified, cause my dad used to get that a lot once he finished his Honours and he was looking for new work cause he had been made redundant. And people said he was over qualified, and it was linked to his BA with Honours. So I was wondering then, if the same is happening to me?
