Alhamdulilah for your safe arrival to Sydney brother.
Like sis Islam MyDeen mentioned, I think there is about 2-3 money transfer places in Lakemba. But it all depends on what area/place you are living in. If you don't mind me asking, what place are you staying in? (so that we can inshAllah help you find a place to transfer your money)

Bro I think the fastest and easiest way to get here by public transport is to catch a train from your nearest station to Lakemba station. Once you get off at Lakemba station shops will immediately be in your face. All you have to do is walk up abit and there you will find the most popular street in Lakemba, in my opinon. It is called Haldon Street. There are many stores/shops, food outlets and the money transfer places that you need.
Hope that helps. By the way, don't forget to ask people for directions along your way if you are lost.
May Allah swt be with you. I wouldn't want to be in your position. Kheir inshAllah.
No need to thank me, we are all here to help our Muslim brothers and sisters to the best of our ability :-)

Salam Aleykoum,
BarakAllah oufikoum for your description. It was very easy to find it thanks to your help.

Im never alone, Allah (swt) is with Us

Salamo 3aleikom,
Brother, what country are you from orginally? :)
Hi Amine!
I am a newbie as well, so I can understand if you feel very overwhlmed beign here at the moment!. I have only been in sydney for 3 weeks but this is what I learnt.
Open up a bank account at Westpac
Open up a BT superfund.
Apply for TFN
Money exchance should be all around the central area. But if you want to tour around- you can go to Parrmatta and there is a money exchange there.
Mobiles- The competitors are Optus and Vodafone. I am with optus but I am looking at other options!. Hope this helps:)
Many thanks
