salams to all who are out there,

sorry for any person whom i didn't respond to or anything, but rest asssured i have a very good reason for not doing so.

i don't know if anyone else this (except HSC students of course), but for these past 3 weeks or so HSC students around the state have been doing their HSC Trial exams, and i there is only 6 weeks or so for our actual HSC.

i just want anyone who has read this to make du'aa for all the muslims who are doind the exams, so that inshallah, muslins will grow up to be educated persons so that we may face up to any chllanegs in our life like muslims should, with dignity and intelligence.

jazakumu allahu kairan

P.S. i got my results for my trials exams, and i am so happy with them that i want to share them with every one.  :D :D

well i 4 one haven't started studying fully yet. can u believe it. but i started with english, written all my essays and my teacher reckons their good. maths however, i swear to God i need all the dua'a to get good enough marks for it. modern history, ancient history getting there, and biology is easy alhamdullilah.

i tell u, sometimes i wish teachers would force us to do work at school. i come to school practically every day right, but half the time i bludge. bad, buit i seriously couldn't be bothered.

oh yeah, i graduated 2 days ago. but i still have to come to school.

anyway, HSC is in 3 weeks, starts on 17th of October. :( :( :( :(

so we neeed all the blessings and dua'as we can get.

salams,

Wa'laycomu salam wr wb,

It seems like there's a lot of work to catch up on sist!!!

Just do your part and rely on Allah. In my duas you'll all be :)

So how do you find modern/ancient history... our history teacher always bugs us of how magnificent it is :x

Take care, wasslam.

salams,

no way!!!!   (cute ay???). antway, i swear my modern teacher is a complete nerd, and not only that. he knows it and is very proud. so i try not to call him a nerd. but yeah, good thing is he reckons i can get like a 88 UAI easy. so alhamdulliah i have a very supportive, if somewhat expectant teacher.

as for ancient, my teacher is the laziest thinf alive. she always tells us to write SAs and all but when it comes to marking, she takes all the time in the world. and she makes excuses when she's late. can't stand her.

but anyway, what about you guidance. what school do u go to?
i can't decide if its a good thing or not, but i go to Wiley Park Girls. :| :| :| :|

take care yourself, and salau alaikum.

lol, let's not make this turn into a 'talk about him and her' discussion  . I was mainly asking about the actual subject  , but i gues it depends on the teacher :? .

I attend a private school, still trying to set its feet to the ground though. But alhamdulilah, it's a good friendly place to be in.

Take care all, wassalamou alaicom wr wb

asslamualykom brothers and sisters in Islam.

I only just saw this thread...lol, however seeing as the HSC is over, I come to ask this question:

How did u guys go?... insh Allah kheir!!!

this is my HSC exam analysis:

Physics: what can I say, it wasnt the best, But insh Allah aligning will help me get a near decent mark!

Chemistry: not too bad, I felt it was quite short!

Maths: Im sure uve read some of the sydney morning herald articles..lol (to all the 2003 students, this exam was worse, It wasnt all too difficult, however the exam was pritty wordy and time consuming), although inshallah maths should be my best mark!

Maths ext: interesting, better than i expected alhamdulillah

English: english is english, no comment

English ext: as above!!!

what subjects do u guys do?... and how'd u find the exams?

insh Alah kheir!!!

By the way, the internal school ranks came out on the 11/11/2005, so make sure u log onto students online ( go to www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au , on the right hand side u'll find a link to 'students online') type in ur student number and pin (not te UAC pin, the other one)... and if u have any concerns with ur ranks, make sure u contact ur school principle immediately!!!

Wassalamualykom warahmatullahi wabrakaatuh!!!

assalam alaikum,

woooohoo! i feel good for those yr 12 students who finished their HSC.. unfortunately i still have to go through the pressures of yr 12... and i am dreading that moment.. inshallah my relyance is on allah (s.w.t)
However i can say, the SC was so goood alhamdulah it would have to be almost the easiest exams i have ever done during yr 10.. so all those who will do it in future.. my advice to u is to concentrate in class, do not panic and u will do just fine with allah's help inshallah!

Bro/ sis guest i am pleased with ur hsc exam analysis and inshallah i hope my encounter will be same as i am also studying very similar subjects.

brothers and sisters dont forget to keep ur siblings in islam in ur duaas inshallah!

peace be upon u all!

Masha Allah...

It's so good to hear our fellow Muslims achieving good grades in their exams, alhamdulilah.

Yeah, I heard that the Year 10 School Certificate was quiet easy and that trials were a lot more difficult. Also, i heard that there's going to be a total new system next year and that the year 10 sc will be changed 'cause it's simply too easy. I wonder if any of you heard that too. But it seems like the change is going to come on my turn

May Allah give our brothers and sisters in Islam the success in all fields of education, ameen thuma ameen.

:help: Salam to all brothers and sisters reading this.
I am really stressed out right now...and need some advice. Im doing the HSC this year (2006) and am worried about Ramadan. I know how important it is not to miss out on any days of fasting but also the hsc is very important. When i fast, i become quiet weak, cant concentrate and study is absolutely out of the question, like last ramadan (which was the first 4 weeks of year 12 for me) i didnt do any homework...i would just come home from school, pray and read quran until iftar. I know that if this year i fast will most definately not do well in the hsc. I have seen my friend last year who i know is a very intelligent person and she did not do well in the hsc as she fasted throughout all her exams. For all those who fasted during the month of ramadan during hsc...how did you go? did fasting really affect your hsc...or is it just shaitan thats causing me to imagine my lack of ability to study??

Fasting during the HSC isnt as hard as u make it sound...

I know many brothers and sisters who completed their HSC this yr and managed to obtain UAI's above 90... some even receiving UAI's of 99+

A few Muslims brothers and sisters who completed their HSC in 2004 and 2003 managed to obtain state rankings, and marks above 90 for alot of their subjects.

During the HSC/Ramadan... i would wake up for suhur, and pray fajr and start studying.. That way ull be fueled to study (from Suhur) and wont feel tired for quite a while.

Remeber during StuVac (Study vacation, which is usualy the 3 weeks before ur HSC) u wont be attending school...

After Maghrib, sit down relax till Isha/taraweeh... and If u dont want to study after suhur... then by all means stay awake till suhur...

Its not impossible... remember.. during the HSC and the weeks before it, u wont have school!

I used to study from about 10-11 pm till 4-5 am... it's awesome to study then... ull have a quiet environment, alot of energy from food and plenty of time.

U domt need to drink two tubs of coffee to be able to handle this.. all u need to do is sleep after fajr a little longer than u usualy would

what ive given u is two different routines u can follow... one will suite u if ur a day time/morning study person, and the other is suitable if u prefer to study at night... personally i felt comfortable with both.

Something else u could do, is observe the Sunnah fasting (ie. fasting every Monday and Thursday) In addition to all the benefits that come from fasting and the rewards, u can use these days to be able to form for urself a study routine whilst fasting and perhaps expermient with different study routines. I fasted the majority of Mondays and Thursdays during the HSC yr (2005)... I didint get a flashy 99.95...(AND THAT WASNT BECAUSE I WAS FASTING...lol.. I can assure u that!!!)
But I got a UAI enough to get me into my desired course, and fasting furing the yr wasnt hard at all alhamdulillah...

U still have time to read Quran during the HSC yr... although i must admit i didint do a khitmah of the Quran last Ramadan...

Nevertheless, Its only the Wiswas of Shaytan. Fasting wont hinder ur ability to obtain high marks... or even a UAI of 99.55...

Sorry... long post... I had alot more to say... inshallah ill get back to doing that as soon as possible... but if u have any questions feel free to ask...

My apologies, I forgot to mention that the Brothers and sisters in my first few paragraphs are examples of Muslims who were fasting during Ramadan!

15-01-06, 02:31 PM
assalmu alikum wa rahmatullah wa barakatu,

it is so true what u were saying, that fasting in the month of ramadan during our HSC was really nothing. i know many girls who were in my class who did not feel the need to fast, or rather thought of it as only a hindrance to fast whilst doin their exams. this was so wrong, but although u tell tehm they just wont listen. asstugfurrulah. i really feel bad.

alhamdullilah, i felt that while i was doin my HSC it was so much easier while i was fsting because i knew i wouldnt have to spend so much time around food,. that will eventually waste so much study time. fasting does not affect your ability to study and work hard during ramadan, not in any physical circumsatnce, anyway, not at least to me. if it does affect it is for the better from Allah (SW).

Excellent combination!!!

I was doing Phys, Chem, Maths, Maths X1, English, and English Ext.

lol... I didint just say it was an excellent combination because i took most of those subjects, I said it because those subjects are interrelated.. not to a massive extent.. but they do help out sometimes... for example I found that maths assisted me in both Phys and chem calculations and i found that physics often shared some concepts with chem...

Doing Phys and chem also gives u a wide option of Uni courses and saves u the hassel of having to complete bridging courses during the summer break before u start Uni... Of course that depends on the course which u have u heart set on...

Neverthless.... If u need any help with anything just ask... although I wont be able to assist u with legal studies but i have a friend who got 97% for legal studies in 2005, he might be able to help Insha' Allah

...

And remember, Brother / Sister (I apologise, I dont know what gender u r..lol.. Im a Brother..just for the record)...Visit the resources section on

www.boredofstudies.org

Some of the best notes r on the site... As soon as i get the chance Inshallah Ill link u to the best Phys and Chem notes on the site

Oh and if u havnt already....Make sure u buy the success One books for Phys, Chem and Maths....They are THE BEST!!!

I think ur school or teachers might have them, just ask if u dont wanna by them, and on www.boardofstudies.com u can find Past HSC exam papers!!!

Oh and by the way, which texts are u studying for English???
