At a mosque I prayed in there were large gaps between the sisters who were in the congregation . I asked one of the sisters if she could move closer and she looked at me as if Im weird.

SubhanAllah at another masjid the sisters had their feet beside one another and shoulder to shoulder.

How do we nicely ask a sister and explain to them that were supposed to pray shoulder to shoulder?

Lol, for the first time in my life i'm going to say something that just sounds

You see sis...you DON't Ask them...you simply...pull them with a nice, FIRM, grip, next to/towards you...and they won't say a thing:rolleyes:

Take it from someone who knows:P i've been ppulled and pushed at prayers for too long a time..i've learned the tricks of the trade:D

Haha the thing is.. are we women only supposed to have shoulder to shoulder touching each other or do we also need to have our feet touching each others like what the men do.. thats where the confusion comes in.

actually for women its shoulder to shoulder but feet to feet not necessary since she should not be standing with her feet wide apart that's what ive heard:)but for men its both

It was my first time at a mosque in Australia on Friday. It was such a beautiful feeling. Should be going again today insh'Allah. And yes, as sister Nebal said, there was a woman who was calling everyone to come closer to each other, and at one stage she pulled a woman to stand next to her.

You see, I dont think that'll work with the older ladies (and they are the ones im referring to). But if it was a young sister then a firm pull would of been the solution.

with the old ladies, what i usually do is kind of pretend to be 'hugging' her and gently pull her towards me, with a nice smile, and tell her: come closer hajjeh, etc. They won't say a thing trust me:)

funny though its the old ladies, usually they're the ones pulling the lines closer to each other and telling the little girls off!:P

lol read this....its from maniac muslim......

Captain Squeeze-In

They say the gaps should be closed between people for prayer. This is so Shaytaan can’t come between us. But then you think to yourself, “It’s Ramadan. Shaytaan is locked up. It’s just a small gap. Not even a mouse can squeeze in here” and then you realize you spoke too soon. Enter the fattest guy who ate three lions during iftaar: http://maniacmuslim.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/tinygap.jpg
Not much you can do about this one other than to be vigilant with the gaps or perhaps to eat something gassy so people can avoid you…
