    Default eating 100% Halal

    Asalamu alaykum

Eating 100% halal is of vital importance to all Muslims. Alhumdulilah we have so many halal alternatives to "doubtful foods". In my opinion there is no subsititue for home made food. you know exactly what is in it without any doubts. What does everybody think?

    Salams all

It is interesting that in the Qur'an when Allah (swt) talks about food he mentions 2 qualities side by side. Halal ( lawful) and Tayib (pure). The food we eat might be halal but the question we should be asking is whether it is tayib. most of the processed foods we buy contain a number of colours, preservatives, artificial flavours from different sources ( sometimes animal). I definitely agree with home cooking.

Also in Surat Al kahf the first thing that the people of the Cave asked after their long sleep was to search for the "purist of foods" ( Azka ta'am). This is advise that we should all follow.

I was at a bbq once and people were asking where the meat was from. The organiser said it was from a halal meat shop, then laughed saying "not all will agree with this type of halal though especially those who believe in the whole hand slaughtering thing." How many types of halal are there?
We should have knowledge about the ins and outs of this stuff.
It seems to go beyond just buying from a 'halal shop'. And apparently, we can eat 'kosher' too?

But even if one does have non-meat based sandwich at Subway - who is to say it hasn't been in contact with haraam items!?
